Why the MedTech Forum 2009

The medical technology industry is facing unprecedented challenges in an increasingly complex environment to do what we do best - promoting clinician choice and access of patients to the benefits of safe, cost-effective and reliable medical technology.

Eucomed members have a critical role to play in making the industry come alive in order to maximise the industry’s reach in Europe and beyond. Only collectively do we have the opportunity to change the perception of our industry to one where the medical technology is an indispensable part of the solution.

The first day of the conference will start with satellite events organised by Eucomed's Working Groups. A training session on a topic related to the European Institutions will also be organised. The following day will see the conference opening by the Chairman of Eucomed and will be followed by a series of policy debates on a wide range of topics such as Going green, Health inequalities, Global regulatory changes and Adoption of innovation.

The CEO Summit will take place in the afternoon and will see Global and European CEOs of medical device companies discuss on how their companies are emerging from the crisis. The last day of the MedTech Forum is dedicated to the MedTech Forum Summit which will see high-level speakers share their views on the topic Healthcare 2020 and what it means for the quality of care and the efficiency & productivity.

During these 3 days, the expertise and knowledge of over 50 speakers from the European institutions, international organisations active in health, universities, medical device companies, consultancies, ... will enrich the debates and discussions with over 350 participations.
